At 3 p.m. on January 7, 2025, The Shelby County Law Enforcement Personnel Board, along with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, and representatives from the Army PaYS (Partnership for Your Success) Program met at the Sheriff’s Office Training Center in Columbiana, Alabama, to hold a signing ceremony to officially mark the partnership between the three organizations in an effort to provide “America’s Soldiers with an opportunity to serve their country while they prepare for their future.”
The Army “PaYS Partners guarantee Soldiers an interview and possible employment after the Army. This unique Program is part of the Army’s effort to partner with America’s business community and reconnect America with its Army.” This partnership presents a unique recruiting opportunity for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office while also helping soldiers transition from military life to civilian life and the ability to explore potential employment opportunities in the criminal justice field.
The event was attended by members of the Shelby County Law Enforcement Personnel Board, Sheriff John Samaniego, division commanders and other representatives from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Shelby County Legislative Delegation, representatives from the Army PaYS Program, and other prominent Shelby County figures. Speakers included Sheriff John Samaniego and Colonel Alan Miller, USMC.
