The Shelby County Law Enforcement Personnel Board provides a public personnel system based on merit principles. All job opportunities require the successful completion of an examination administered by the Law Enforcement Personnel Board. Examinations will be given at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Training Center in Columbiana. Applications for employment will be accepted online through 4 p.m. on Wednesday before the Friday testing date. Testing will be held on the second Friday of each month.
